Uttar Pradesh is taking significant strides in promoting religious tourism with the introduction of electric boats in Ayodhya and Varanasi. This initiative aims to offer visitors a more sustainable and enjoyable way to explore these culturally significant cities.
In Ayodhya, four specialized electric boats will be deployed, providing a unique way to experience the Saryu River. One air-conditioned electric boat with a 50-seat capacity will be available, along with two 30-seat electric boats. These boats will operate from Nayaghat, offering visitors a comfortable and eco-friendly mode of transportation.
Varanasi will also witness the arrival of a 50-seater air-conditioned electric boat, stationed at Ravidas Ghat on the Ganga River. The introduction of these electric boats not only provides a unique way to explore the revered rivers of Ayodhya and Varanasi but also aligns with the state’s sustainability goals.
The state government is committed to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors by establishing dedicated docking and charging facilities at the ghats. This comprehensive approach to infrastructure development will enhance the overall experience for tourists and solidify the region’s reputation as a top destination for spiritual tourism.
The introduction of electric boats is a welcome addition to the existing tourism offerings in Ayodhya and Varanasi. It is a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s dedication to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism while preserving the cultural heritage of these ancient cities.
