The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has announced the exam dates for the highly anticipated recruitment drive of 60,244 constable posts in the civil police. The exams are scheduled to be held on August 23, 24, 25, and August 30, 31, as per an official press release. The written exam will be conducted in two shifts on each of the designated dates, with a massive turnout of 5 lakh candidates expected in each shift. This direct recruitment for constable positions will be based solely on merit, determined through the written examination.
The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, has prioritized ensuring the highest standards of integrity and transparency in the conduct of these crucial exams. To this end, detailed guidelines were issued on June 19th, encompassing test centre selection, exam preparation protocols, candidate verification procedures, and measures to prevent impersonation. The examination will be held strictly adhering to these protocols to guarantee a fair and transparent selection process.
In light of recent controversies surrounding other competitive examinations, including allegations of irregularities and paper leaks, the authorities have taken a firm stance against any malpractices during the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable exam. The Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance-2024 (Uttar Pradesh Ordinance No. 6 of 2024) was issued on July 1st, outlining severe penalties for engaging in or facilitating unfair means during the exam. These penalties include hefty fines of up to one crore rupees and life imprisonment.
To further ease the burden on candidates, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has made arrangements for free bus services for those appearing for the examination. Candidates can avail themselves of this service by downloading two additional copies of their admit cards, which must be presented to the bus conductor during their travel. (With inputs from ANI)
