Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a significant announcement on Sunday, stating that the state government will recruit 1 lakh youngsters in the police force over the next two years. Addressing the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha meeting and membership workshop in Varanasi, Adityanath emphasized the government’s commitment to providing fair and transparent employment opportunities for the youth.
He declared, “Today there is no discrimination against the youth in the state. Youth are being linked to government jobs in a fair and transparent manner.” Adityanath further stated, “In the next two years, one lakh youth will be recruited in UP Police.” This announcement comes on the heels of a successful police recruitment process, with over 60,200 candidates set to join the force.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Adityanath claimed that over 6.5 lakh youth have been provided with jobs during the past seven and a half years.
Shifting his focus to the political landscape, Adityanath urged the participants to see politics as a means to uphold values and ideals. He cautioned against viewing politics solely as a path to power or personal gain. “Politics should not be a means of attaining power or achieving selfish ends, but it should rather be a means of promoting the values of state and national interest.” He emphasized, “Always remember one thing, politics without principles is a noose of death. We should not get entangled in temptation and no matter what happens, we should not compromise on our values.”
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Adityanath stated, “This is a very strange situation, the great men whose values were ridiculed till yesterday are today being worshipped for votes.” He continued, “Remember that these are the same people who do not hesitate to support those who spew venom against the country.”
Adityanath specifically targeted the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, stating, “Who does not know the faces of the Samajwadi Party? This is the same Congress which ruled the country for the longest time and also opposed Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.”
The meeting, which included a membership workshop, commenced with a traditional Swasti Vachan. Several prominent leaders attended the event, according to a district administration official. Upon arriving in Varanasi on Sunday afternoon, Adityanath paid his respects at the Baba Kaal Bhairav and Shri Kashi Vishwanath temples.
