In a significant move to enhance connectivity and boost tourism in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the highly anticipated Lal Kuan-Bandra superfast train in a virtual ceremony on Monday. This new rail service is set to revolutionize travel between the picturesque town of Lalkuan in Nainital and the bustling city of Bandra in Mumbai.
The Lal Kuan-Bandra superfast train is designed to offer passengers a faster and more efficient travel option, significantly reducing journey time. The train route traverses several key cities and religious destinations, catering to both tourists seeking to explore Uttarakhand’s natural beauty and devotees embarking on pilgrimages.
This new train service is expected to have a profound impact on tourism and religious travel in the region. With three trains operating weekly, connecting Ramnagar, Haldwani, and Lalkuan to Mumbai, visitors will have increased convenience and frequency to explore the Kumaon region. This increased connectivity is anticipated to attract more tourists, making travel between Uttarakhand and Mumbai more convenient for both visitors and locals.
The Lal Kuan-Bandra superfast train, numbered 22544, departs from Lalkuan at 7:45 AM and arrives at Bandra Terminus the next morning at 8:30 AM. On its return journey, the train leaves Bandra at 11:00 AM and reaches Lalkuan by 1:15 PM the following day. This convenient schedule provides a smooth travel experience for passengers journeying between Uttarakhand and Mumbai.
Equipped with modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) technology, the train prioritizes passenger comfort and safety. It features both AC and sleeper coaches, allowing travelers to choose the level of comfort that best suits their needs.
Chief Minister Dhami expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its alignment with the state government’s vision for modernizing transportation and strengthening Uttarakhand’s position as a premier travel destination. This new initiative is expected to foster regional growth and strengthen ties between Uttarakhand and Maharashtra.
The launch of the Lal Kuan-Bandra superfast train represents a significant milestone in improving transportation infrastructure in Uttarakhand. It will provide locals with a convenient and speedy connection to Mumbai, one of India’s largest metropolitan areas. This development is a testament to the state government’s commitment to promoting tourism and economic development, as improved connectivity will attract more visitors to Uttarakhand’s diverse landscapes and cultural heritage.
