The Uttarandhra (North Andhra) region has suffered significant neglect under the current YSRCP government, according to TDP national president and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking at a Praja Galam election meeting with JSP chief K. Pawan Kalyan in Nellimarla, Vizianagaram district, Naidu criticized the YSRCP government for failing to deliver on its promises.
Naidu stated that despite claiming to develop the state through the three-capitals concept, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has not taken any concrete steps to generate employment or complete any significant irrigation projects in the Uttarandhra region. He credited the TDP with acquiring land and laying the foundation stone for the Bhogapuram airport project, highlighting the importance of the project in attracting investments to the region.
Pawan Kalyan echoed Naidu’s sentiments, emphasizing the need to address migration and create employment opportunities in Uttarandhra. He accused the YSRCP government of failing to reopen the Nellimarla jute mill, resulting in the loss of employment for 10,000 people. Kalyan pledged to reopen the mill and strengthen law and order in the state to prevent temple desecrations and curb illegal activities such as sand and granite smuggling.
Lokam Madhavi, the JSP leader and Nellimarla Assembly constituency candidate, and K. Appalanaidu, the TDP MP candidate from Vizianagaram Lok Sabha constituency, were also present at the election meeting.
