Uzbekistan Airways Welcomes New Airbus A320neo to Its Fleet

Uzbekistan Airways recently welcomed a new addition to its fleet: an Airbus A320neo aircraft. This acquisition marks a continuation of the airline’s modernization efforts, which aim to enhance passenger experience and expand flight destinations. The aircraft, bearing the registration number UK32029, completed its journey from Taiwan to Tashkent International Airport, where it received a ceremonial water arch salute upon arrival. The A320neo features a two-class configuration with a total of 170 seats, comprising 8 business class seats and 162 economy class seats. It boasts a distinctive black frame around its cockpit windows, adding to its striking appearance. Utilizing AKZO NOBLE BCC, a premier enamel in the aviation sector, the aircraft underwent meticulous painting. Notably, the acquisition of the aircraft was made through a long-term leasing arrangement. Seasoned pilots from Uzbekistan Airways, including Deputy Flight Squad Commander Evgeniy Nagai and Aircraft Commander Farhad Latypov, were entrusted with the ferrying of the aircraft. Flight Attendant-Instructor Dinara Dadabaeva also played a pivotal role in the acceptance process. With preparations underway, the A320neo is poised to commence regular and charter flights, soon embarking on its maiden passenger journeys. “Uzbekistan Airways successfully implements plans to acquire new aircraft and expand flight destinations, increasing the flow of foreign tourists to the Republic and providing Uzbeks with more opportunities to travel the world. All of the airline’s planes meet modern standards in terms of quality, comfort, safety, and further establish Uzbekistan Airways as one of the most reliable carriers in the world arena,” noted Shukhrat Shavkatovich Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways JSC. The Airbus A320neo represents the cutting-edge evolution of the highly popular Airbus A320 family of narrow-body aircraft. The acronym “neo” signifies “New Engine Option,” which translates to reduced fuel consumption, operating expenses, and emissions, while simultaneously enhancing flight range and payload capacity. Today, the Airbus A320neo stands as a premier choice for medium-haul air travel worldwide, boasting unparalleled levels of safety and efficiency. Notably, it has achieved a 20% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to its predecessors, positioning it as the most eco-friendly option among similar medium-haul aircraft. Uzbekistan Airways, the foremost airline in Uzbekistan functioning as a Joint Stock Company, prides itself on its expansive fleet, which includes a diverse range of aircraft such as the Boeing 767/787, Airbus A320ceo/320neo/321neo/A330, L-410, and ATR-72.
