Valley of Fire State Park is embarking on the construction of a new visitor center, with an anticipated opening date in fall 2025. This state-of-the-art facility will immerse visitors in the cultural and geological heritage of the park through engaging exhibits. The center will also feature meticulously crafted recreations of the park’s distinctive slot canyons and other natural formations.
Additionally, the visitor center will boast an expanded gift shop offering a wide selection of park-related souvenirs. An outdoor amphitheater, capable of accommodating up to 200 guests, will provide a captivating setting for educational programs and special events.
The construction of the new visitor center is generously supported by a $7 million grant from the Helmsley Charitable Trust. The same organization previously contributed $3.5 million towards the establishment of the Ice Age Fossils State Park, which opened its doors in January.
During the construction phase, visitors may encounter traffic delays between the Beehives Trailhead and Petrified Logs Trailhead. The Valley of Fire State Park has implemented the Reserve Nevada system, enabling visitors to conveniently purchase day-use passes, annual permits, reserve campsites and cabins, and make special event reservations.
