Vampire Weekend has announced an additional London date for their 2024 UK and Ireland tour due to high demand. The band will now perform two nights at the O2 Academy Brixton on December 10th and 11th, in addition to their previously scheduled shows at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on December 4th and 5th. Tickets for the new date go on general sale at 9:30am BST this Friday, April 26th, with O2 Priority and past booker pre-sales taking place on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th, respectively. The NYC-based band is set to release their fifth album, ‘Only God Was Above Us,’ on April 5th, and will embark on a North American tour in November in support of the record. Vampire Weekend has already performed at the first weekend of Coachella 2024 and is scheduled to appear at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Luton next month, as well as Primavera Sound, Kilby Block Party, and Hinterland. Their recent album has received critical acclaim, with NME praising it as ‘an ambitious concoction of sounds that don’t seem to exist in the same realm, yet intertwine naturally beneath Koenig’s increasingly sullen vocals.’
