A symbol of beauty since the 1970s, Vera Fischer is set to have one of her most sensual photographs put up for sale in an exhibition in São Paulo. The photograph, featuring Fischer nude, was taken by legendary photographer Bob Wolfenson and will be available for purchase at the “Instante Construído” exhibition. This exhibition, showcasing Wolfenson’s 50-year career, will be open for public viewing until October 10th at the Galeria Mario Cohen. The photo in question was taken in Paris in December 1999, inside what would be a butcher shop. In the photo, the 72-year-old actress can be seen through a window, with her face covered by a pane of glass. The news was announced by Fischer on her Instagram profile this Friday (September 6th). “One day, in a dedication, Bob wrote thanking me for lending my courage and beauty to his work. Today, I want to say that it was much more than that. In ten out of ten interviews I give, I am asked about how much my beauty made my journey easier. ‘Beauty’, in these questions, is always used as a strange synonym for flesh,” she began in her statement. “I don’t see men answering questions of this nature. I made and make of my beauty what I decide! I am the one who defines my trajectory. And I do it with successes, mistakes and no regrets. I love this photo because in it, as every woman should do, I chose, because I wanted to, to be flesh. Thank you Bob Wolfenson for your eyes and for taking this adventure with me!” the actress concluded. The exhibition celebrates Wolfenson’s 50-year career, showcasing 32 works that represent his trajectory, with a focus on his career in fashion photography.
