The collection, drenched in pastel hues, was a delightful nod to the house’s spring 1997 Versus show. However, it was a more recent launch that sparked inspiration for many of the season’s accessories: a nearly 20-year-old beauty product.
In 2006, Versace boldly ventured into the beauty market, launching the iconic fruity-floral fragrance, Bright Crystal. This fragrance has stood the test of time, spawning three sister scents: Crystal Noir, Yellow Diamond, and Absolu.
For the spring 2025 show, the Bright Crystal bottle took center stage, transformed into charming bracelets with the fragrance inside! The iconic bottle also made its debut as heel-blocks for mules and as oversized, transparent clutches. These faux bottles, crafted from plexiglass, were designed to be more durable for everyday wear compared to the hand-blown glass of the fragrance version.
It’s a brilliant marketing strategy to remind shoppers of Versace’s successful beauty line. But more importantly, for Bright Crystal lovers like myself, these accessories are a dream come true. Versace has managed to create a collection that seamlessly blends nostalgia with modern design, resulting in a delightful fusion of past and present.
