A veterinary technician has revealed the four breeds of dogs that she despises handling. The woman, known only as @bigstretchy on social media, shared her list of undesirable pooches in a video posted to her TikTok channel.
At the top of the vet tech’s list is the Belgian Mallinois, or Belgian Shepherd, which she described as an ‘obvious choice’. She characterized the dog as ‘pretty neurotic’ and prone to aggression. The vet tech explained that people typically acquire this breed because they desire a ‘strong alpha’ and that if these dogs receive any training at all, it’s often in a language other than English so that the dog responds solely to its owner.
Next on her list is the German Shepherd, though she admitted to being biased since one of these dogs nearly severed her arm. ‘It was quite painful, and I’ll have that scar for the rest of my life,’ she said. The vet tech described German Shepherds as ‘giant babies’ and ‘drama queens’ that despise being touched. She emphasized the critical importance of training for this breed.
The third dog the vet tech dislikes working with is the Husky, which she labeled as ‘notorious for drama.’ She explained that they are extremely loud, vocal, and difficult to approach.
Finally, the vet tech named the Cane Corso as her least favorite breed to handle. She recalled witnessing the most gruesome dog attack she had ever seen, which was perpetrated by this breed, and revealed that she had seen the dog slice open someone’s face. Cane Corsos were bred for fighting and guarding purposes, and they can be highly aggressive.
The vet tech’s video has likely resonated with many people, garnering over 900,000 views on the video-sharing platform. TikTok users have flocked to the video’s comment section to share their own experiences and opinions.
One individual commented: ‘I knew Corso would be on this list, which makes me sad because my Corso is the sweetest, but they are definitely an intimidating breed.’ Another chimed in: ‘I own a Belgian Malinois, and they are extremely anxious and should never be owned by first-time dog owners. Owning and providing a happy and healthy life for a dog is not only a significant long-term financial investment but also a lifelong commitment. Here are nine things to consider before getting one: They require a lot of attention and care!’ A third individual commented: ‘Every Cane Corso I’ve encountered has been owned by a man who has intentionally trained his dog to attack on command. It’s truly heartbreaking.’ A fourth individual added: ‘I’ve heard that Corgis are also among the breeds that veterinarians despise the most. I always apologize profusely when I take mine to the vet.’
