In a significant move aimed at bolstering tourism and strengthening economic ties, Vietjet Airlines is considering direct flights between Andhra Pradesh and Vietnam. The announcement was made at the Andhra Pradesh-Vietnam Tourism Conclave 2024, held in Vijayawada, marking a transformative step in enhancing relations between the two regions.
The conclave, organized by Aieraa Overseas Studies founder and CEO Deepa Ranganatham, brought together over 200 prominent industry stakeholders. The event was graced by the Ambassador of Vietnam to India, H.E. Nguyen Thanh Hai, who served as the chief guest.
Durgesh, a key speaker at the conclave, highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to expanding its global tourism footprint, emphasizing the state’s growing interest in attracting visitors from Vietnam. The Ambassador, in his address, lauded the strong participation from both sides and underscored Vietnam’s dedication to strengthening tourism ties with India.
He emphasized Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage, including UNESCO-listed sites that resonate with ancient Indian traditions, making it a highly attractive destination for Indian travelers. He expressed optimism that initiatives like the e-visa system and new flight routes would significantly increase Indian tourist arrivals, aiming to reach the one million mark.
A Vietjet Airlines representative outlined plans to directly connect Andhra Pradesh with major Vietnamese cities, facilitating easier travel for tourists and business travelers. The representative highlighted the airline’s commitment to providing convenient and affordable travel options.
Bhaskara Rao Potluri, President of the AP Chamber of Commerce, addressed the economic advantages of these international tourism collaborations. He advocated for strategic marketing and reciprocal events to showcase the unique offerings of both regions, fostering mutual understanding and economic growth.
