Vietnam’s Tech Giant FPT Plans AI Factory with Nvidia’s Support

Vietnam’s leading technology firm FPT has embarked on a $200 million project to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) factory in collaboration with technology giant Nvidia.

The AI factory will harness Nvidia’s graphics chips and software to advance AI research within Vietnam. The partnership also involves the development of AI applications and solutions at the planned data center factory, encompassing fields like generative AI and autonomous driving.

FPT’s vision is to position Vietnam as an AI hub through this collaboration. The firms have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership, leveraging Nvidia’s technology, business development support, and training expertise.

Nvidia’s Vice President of Worldwide AI Initiatives, Keith Strier, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding partnerships with Vietnam’s leading tech firms. He highlighted specific agreements and strategies for each operating unit within FPT.

The U.S.-based chipmaker, Nvidia, has previously invested over $250 million in Vietnam. FPT, the most valuable technology company listed on the Ho Chi Minh City bourse, offers an array of AI, cloud, and big data services. The company’s total revenues surpassed $2 billion in the previous year.
