The Villa Walsh Vikings girls lacrosse team has finally broken through with their second win of the season, a 14-10 victory over the Cedar Grove Panthers. The Vikings, who endured an 0-5 start to the season, notched their second win in three games to improve to 2-6.
Four Vikings players – Kayla Castellano, Sofia Kearns, Tessa Bowers, and Gigi Longo – each scored hat-tricks in the win. Laurel Hamilton was solid in net for Villa Walsh, making eight saves.
Ava Jablonski led the way for Cedar Grove with five goals, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win for the Panthers, who dropped to 4-5 on the season.
The Vikings will look to continue their winning ways when they take on the Montclair Kimberley Cougars on Wednesday, April 12th. Cedar Grove will look to bounce back when they host the Livingston Lancers on Tuesday, April 11th.
