Viral TikTok Recipe: Healthy Chocolate Banana Fudge

When it comes to sweet treats that pair perfectly with a cup of tea, it doesn’t get better than a lovely piece of fudge. This nostalgic snack is a firm favourite with many people, and you can pick it up from most shops easily. But making it at home is actually very simple too. One recipe which has gone viral on TikTok recently only requires five ingredients that you probably already have at home, and very little preparation too.

Food lover and healthy recipe fanatic Leah, also known as @leaheverecipes, created the ‘healthy’ chocolate and banana fudge recipe for her followers and it seems to be hugely popular, boasting over 23,400 likes and thousands of saves too. It only involves mixing a few simple ingredients and leaving it to set overnight, making it the perfect snack for on-the-go.

In the comments, one person raved: “Just ate them and loved them! I made them with honey and it was really good.” Another joked: “My problem is I’d eat the whole pan.” Here’s everything you need to make this simple recipe:

Chocolate and banana fudge

Ingredients:

* Two tbsp cocoa powder
* Two tbsp coconut oil
* Two tbsp maple syrup
* One 1/2 large bananas
* Drizzle of peanut butter

Method:

To begin with, line a small baking tray or loaf tin with greaseproof paper. Take one of the bananas and slice it up into coins, laying them across the bottom of the tray. To a blender, add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and coconut oil and the rest of the bananas. Blend until smooth, making sure there are no lumps.

Meanwhile, melt the peanut butter in the microwave and drizzle it over the bananas in the lined tray. Pour the chocolate mixture over the top, and tap the tray a few times to remove any air bubbles. Put the tray in the freezer for around 5-6 hours until it has fully hardened. Once the time is up, take the fudge out of the lined tray and cut up into bite-sized pieces, and serve.
