Virgin Atlantic Expands Connectivity with New Codeshare Partnerships and Tel Aviv Service Resumption

Virgin Atlantic Unveils New Codeshare Partnerships and Tel Aviv Service Resumption

Virgin Atlantic has announced three new codeshare partnerships and the resumption of its London Heathrow to Tel Aviv route, effective September 5, 2024. These initiatives are designed to boost connectivity, enhance customer benefits, and offer expanded flight options.

Resumption of London Heathrow to Tel Aviv Route

Virgin Atlantic will resume daily flights from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv on Airbus A330 aircraft, offering connections through Heathrow to 14 US destinations. The airline will operate 33 daily flights to Tel Aviv in partnership with Delta Air Lines.

Codeshare Partnership with EL AL

Virgin Atlantic has established a new codeshare partnership with EL AL, providing increased connections between the UK, US, and Israel. Both airlines will place codes on their respective London Heathrow and Tel Aviv services, allowing customers to access up to four daily flights between the UK and Israel. The partnership offers reciprocal earning and redemption opportunities, as well as premium customer recognition and tier benefits for frequent flyers.

Membership in SkyTeam and New Codeshare with SAS and Saudia

As a member of SkyTeam since March 2023, Virgin Atlantic welcomes SAS Scandinavian Airlines as the alliance’s newest member. This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity and offer new destinations. Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club members will have immediate earning and redeeming opportunities with SAS, while SAS EuroBonus members can earn and redeem points on Virgin Atlantic flights.

Virgin Atlantic has also launched a new codeshare with SkyTeam member Saudia, providing connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Virgin Atlantic destinations. The agreement allows Virgin Atlantic customers traveling from the US to connect through London Heathrow and Manchester to Saudia’s services to Jeddah and Riyadh. Tier Points and points redemption have been available since March 2023, with online redemptions launched last month. Saudia’s AlFursan members can also earn and redeem points on Virgin Atlantic flights.
