In a major boost for Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG), goalkeeper Vishal Kaith has extended his stay at the club until 2029. The 28-year-old custodian, who joined the Mariners from Chennaiyin FC ahead of the 2022-23 season, signed a new contract on Sunday, solidifying his commitment to the club.
Kaith, a key figure in MBSG’s recent success, expressed his unwavering dedication to the club, stating, “I want to play for Mohun Bagan forever. It is the love and affection of the fans here that have kept me from leaving, despite offers from other clubs. That’s why I have signed to such a long commitment.”
His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed. In his debut season with MBSG, Kaith claimed the prestigious ‘Golden Glove’ award. In total, he has helped the club win the ISL League Shield, ISL Cup, and the Durand Cup in his two seasons with the team.
His impact was particularly evident in the recently concluded 2024 Durand Cup, where he proved instrumental in the penalty shootout victory over Punjab FC, securing MBSG a place in the final. Kaith’s commitment to the club and his consistent performances make him a valuable asset for MBSG, and his presence will no doubt continue to contribute to their future successes.
