Vivienne Westwood and Palace Skateboards Unveil First Collaborative Collection

Vivienne Westwood, a name synonymous with British fashion, has teamed up with the renowned skateboarding brand, Palace Skateboards, to create a groundbreaking collaborative collection. This eagerly awaited first partnership will debut on September 7th at 11:00 AM, featuring a captivating range of apparel, accessories, jewelry, and skateboards. The collection pays homage to the rich heritage of both brands, showcasing iconic elements in a fresh and exciting way.

The highlight of this collection is the incorporation of Vivienne Westwood’s iconic ‘Salon Print,’ which first appeared in the brand’s 1992 Spring/Summer collection, ‘Salon.’ This print adorns Gore-Tex hooded jackets, track pants, and skirts, highlighting the brand’s enduring legacy. Palace’s signature triangle logo seamlessly blends with Vivienne Westwood’s iconic Orb, creating a powerful visual statement that graces hoodies and T-shirts. The collection also features Vivienne Westwood’s distinctive logomania, integrated with Palace’s branding, adorning denim sets, flight suits, and other captivating items.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Palace Skateboards as they introduce their first-ever women’s apparel line. Vivienne Westwood’s classic corsets make a statement in black and white satin, featuring a playful print of Palace founder Lev Tanju’s beloved dog, Stuart. The collection also features a striking leopard print zip-up hoodie, a bold design that extends to crewnecks and accessories, showcasing a collaborative logo on the back. A standout accessory is the oversized teddy bear bag, inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s iconic pieces from the early 1990s.

The campaign imagery, captured by Masakazu Aoki, the founder of the Japanese street style magazine ‘FRUiTS,’ on the streets of London, showcases a diverse cast of models. The campaign features American rapper/singer Cemetery and Matt Ox, 90s model and activist Sibyl Buck, model couple Ed Teller and Issa Lish, Palace pro skater Lucien Clarke, and DJ/singer Josh Cafe. The campaign celebrates the spirit of collaboration, reflecting the brands’ shared dedication to pushing boundaries and celebrating individuality.

Andreas Kronthaler, Creative Director of Vivienne Westwood, shared his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “From the first time I visited Palace a few years ago, I was drawn to their work. Their designs are high-quality yet accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The collaboration came naturally, and it was a playful project.
