Vivo, the China-based tech giant, has launched a new tablet, the Vivo Pad 3, and its impressive specifications suggest it could quickly become one of the year’s top Android tablets. More importantly, it poses a significant challenge to Apple’s recently released iPad Air (2024).
The Vivo Pad 3 boasts a spacious 12.1-inch LCD with a 2,800 x 1,968 resolution and a 7:5 screen ratio. The display, equipped with a P3 gamut, delivers 600 nits of peak brightness and supports HDR10. To top it off, it features a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Vivo Pad 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also packs a substantial 10,000mAh battery that supports rapid 44-watt charging via its USB-C port.
In terms of imaging, the tablet features an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. The audio experience is enhanced by a six-speaker setup that delivers immersive 3D panoramic sound. Additionally, the tablet is compatible with the Vivo Pencil and Keyboard, allowing for a more productive and versatile user experience.
The Vivo Pad 3 is available in three stylish colors: blue, purple, and gray. Notably, the Vivo Pad 3 surpasses the iPad Air (2024) in several key areas. First, it features a larger display compared to the iPad Air’s 11-inch screen. The Vivo Pad 3 also boasts a faster refresh rate and a bigger battery capacity. Perhaps the most compelling advantage is its significantly lower price, starting at $345, compared to the iPad Air’s $599 starting price.
For those considering the 13-inch iPad Air (2024), Vivo also offers a solution. In March, the company unveiled the 13.1-inch Vivo Pad 3 Pro, priced at around $480. This directly competes with the base model 13-inch iPad Air, which carries a price tag of $799.
The Vivo Pad 3 is now available for pre-order in China on Vivo’s official website. Sales will officially commence on Friday, July 5.
