Vogue Singapore and BMW Partner for Innovation Prize 2024

The Vogue Singapore Innovation Prize, a cornerstone of Vogue Singapore’s dedication to promoting regional talent, is back for its fourth year. Launched under the Vogue Singapore Foundation, an initiative focused on showcasing Southeast Asian creatives globally, the prize has consistently highlighted exceptional talent. Past winners have included adaptive fashion label Wearable, lab-grown exotic skin pioneers ProjectEx, and climate change solutions provider COzTERRA.

This year, the Vogue Singapore Innovation Prize welcomes BMW as its partner. Known for its global reach and commitment to cutting-edge innovation, BMW is a natural fit for the prize’s mission. The collaboration reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to nurturing creativity and empowering emerging businesses in Southeast Asia.

BMW is bringing a wealth of expertise to the prize, including two key figures: Dr. Stella Clarke, a visionary Development Engineer, will join the jury panel, while Dr. Renzo Vitale, the trailblazing Creative Director of Sound, will serve as a mentor.

The partnership aims to identify and support fashion and beauty businesses driving innovation and offering sustainable solutions. BMW’s own commitment to innovation is exemplified by the new BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA, a testament to the company’s commitment to both technology and cultural engagement. This innovative vehicle features a unique color-changing exterior inspired by South African artist Esther Mahlangu’s Ndebele paintings, along with a distinctive sound experience that combines Mahlangu’s voice, the sounds of her paintbrushes, and the acoustic signals of the BMW i5 touch display.

To be eligible for the Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize, fashion or beauty businesses must have a presence in Southeast Asia and fall under one or more of these categories:

*

Accessible Design:

Promoting inclusive and accessible fashion practices.
*

Eco-Sustainability:

Embracing environmentally conscious production and materials.
*

Digital Fashion:

Utilizing digital technology to innovate in fashion and beauty.

Shortlisted applicants will participate in a two-day bootcamp featuring global industry experts. Ten finalists will then undergo a four-week mentorship program, followed by a final pitch to an esteemed international jury. This year’s jury includes:

* Bettina von Schlippe, Publisher of Vogue Singapore
* Alexis Bonhomme, Vice President Greater China & Asia Pacific of Farfetch
* Mark Guiducci, Creative Editorial Director of Vogue US
* Ciara Byrne, Vice President of New Business Innovation at Condé Nast
* Dr. Stella Clarke, Research Engineer Open Innovations of BMW Group

The winner will receive a $20,000 cash prize, a year-long membership with the Singapore Fashion Council, a pro bono legal consultation, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Monaco for a program packed with mentorship, workshops, and investor meetings.
