The streets of Paris, the fashion capital of the world, buzzed with excitement as Vogue Threads unfolded, a celebration of Filipino storytelling, craftsmanship, and culture. This event, marking the second anniversary of Vogue Philippines, brought together tastemakers and enthusiasts from the world of fashion, media, and design. They gathered within the historic walls of the Palais Galliera to witness the brilliance of both established and emerging Filipino designers.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the gilded hues of Chivas Regal, the Scottish distillery that partnered with Vogue Philippines to create this extraordinary evening. Fashion icons Kelsey Merritt and Mathieu Simoneau, stepping out of their co-branded coaches, were met by intricately designed maquettes that lined the peristyle of the museum.
Beyond the photocall, attendees were welcomed by gracious attendants offering a selection of bespoke cocktails designed specifically for the event. Flacons of Chivas XV adorned the dining hall, adding a touch of elegance to the tablescapes and the golden mobile bar.
The cocktail menu, curated by mixologist Mark John Buenviaje, featured an array of tantalizing options. Guests could savor flute glasses of champagne blended with raspberry puree and floral notes, or indulge in the unique cocktails crafted with Chivas XV.
The Chivas Knight, Simoneau’s drink of choice, paired the fifteen-year-aged whisky with the invigorating citrus flavors of orange bitters and Cointreau. The Chivas Rose, a tribute to the celebratory spirit of GH Mumm Cordon Rouge champagne, captured the essence of festivity with its delicate rose syrup and lemon bitters. Lastly, the Chivas Luxe, accented by the herbal flavors of Angostura bitters, allowed the powerful character of both spirits to shine through.
From Manila to Paris, the family-founded Chivas Regal embraced this milestone for Philippine fashion. The brand, rooted in the determination and spirit of the Chivas brothers, has always strived to uplift and support others through challenges and successes.
By celebrating this milestone with Vogue Philippines, Chivas Regal showcased the strength and resilience of Philippine craftsmanship and its contribution to the global heritage of culture and art. As the evening reached its climax, Editor-in-Chief Bea Valdes raised a toast, capturing the essence of the night: “To the collective million miles we have traveled to reach this point, and to the countless next million milestones that lie ahead.”
