According to a recent NBC News poll, voters in the United States are most concerned about inflation and the border crisis ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
When asked who they trust more to handle these issues, a significant majority of respondents preferred former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden. Specifically, 52% of likely voters expressed a preference for Trump on inflation, while only 30% supported Biden.
The poll also found that 69% of respondents disapproved of Biden’s handling of immigration and the border crisis. While the survey did not specifically inquire about Trump’s handling of these issues, a previous NBC poll revealed that 57% of respondents preferred his approach to immigration at the border compared to 22% who favored Biden.
In a direct matchup between Trump and Biden conducted as part of the poll, Trump held a slight edge with 46% of the vote compared to Biden’s 44%.
These poll results align with recent surveys conducted by Fox News in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, which also indicated that Trump is generally viewed as a more capable candidate to address immigration and the economy than Biden.
Additionally, an Axios/Ipsos survey revealed that 42% of Latino voters have a positive perception of Trump’s economic policies, while only 20% feel the same about Biden. On the issue of immigration, 29% of Latino respondents gave Trump a positive rating, surpassing the 22% who preferred Biden.
