Peninsula Hospitality has brought a taste of paradise to Mumbai with their new Waikiki dining venue. The restaurant, inspired by the vibrant culture of Hawaii, offers a unique blend of tropical cuisine and contemporary ambiance.
While Waikiki originally launched with Executive Chef David Cagle at the helm, the restaurant has recently welcomed a new Head Chef, Harpreet Singh Bhatti. Chef Bhatti, a culinary veteran with over 10 years of experience, brings a fresh perspective to Waikiki’s menu.
His culinary journey began at the prestigious Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, where he honed his skills at Wasabi by Chef Morimoto, learning the intricacies of Japanese cuisine under the guidance of renowned Japanese chefs like Masaki Kobayashi-san.
At Waikiki, Chef Bhatti aims to capture the essence of aloha through his dishes. He blends Japanese and Hawaiian influences, resulting in unique creations like Robatoyaki, a traditional charcoal grilling technique that adds a smoky depth to the flavors.
Chef Bhatti’s commitment to both traditional flavors and contemporary methods ensures a dining experience that is both distinctive and unforgettable. On his appointment, he expressed his excitement, stating, “My journey began with a passion for creating memorable dining experiences, and my association with Waikiki is sure to enhance my culinary journey. I look forward to bringing the vibrant spirit of aloha to life in this exciting new chapter.”
With Chef Bhatti at the helm, Waikiki promises to be a culinary destination that transports diners to the sunny shores of Hawaii, right in the heart of Mumbai.
