The weather models that are typically most accurate a week in advance are showing a solid warm weather pattern emerging for the upcoming week. The European Centre For Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Model (Euro Model) and the Global Forecast System (GFS), both indicate a warm pattern.
The Euro Model’s forecast for May 1st shows surface temperatures around 10 to 12 degrees Fahrenheit above normal, with highs in the low 70s. The GFS ensemble mode also predicts above normal temperatures, but slightly cooler than the Euro Model, with highs near 70 degrees.
The deterministic mode of the Euro projects high temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s for May 1st. The GFS forecast aligns with this, showing similar temperature ranges for that day.
As we move past Thursday morning, we can expect to feel a shift towards spring-like conditions, with warmer temperatures becoming the norm.
