Wayne G. Libby, Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend

Wayne G. Libby, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on April 19, 2024, in Brunswick, Maine, where he resided, and Vero Beach, Florida. Wayne was born on March 4, 1937, to Clarence and Elizabeth (Loader) Libby in Rowayton, Connecticut. He spent his childhood in Rowayton, where he met his wife, Jeanne Bosang, in middle school. They married while Wayne attended the University of Maine in Orono.

After graduating from college, Wayne and Jeanne moved to Brunswick, where Wayne embarked on his 36-year career as a teacher at Brunswick Junior High School. During their 64 years of marriage, they welcomed four children: Deborah Bachelder (George), David Libby (Phyllis), Daniel Libby (Tina), and Dennis Libby (Denise). Wayne also leaves behind his sister, Jean, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Wayne had a passion for golf and was an avid hockey enthusiast. He dedicated over 20 years to coaching Brunswick youth hockey. Those who knew Wayne will fondly remember his love for his family, his dedication to his students, and his unwavering support for the community.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick. Friends and family are welcome to share their memories and condolences. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Maine Cancer Association or the Maine Alzheimer’s Association.
