The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted intensifying rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu over the next two days. A yellow alert has been issued for Salem, Krishnagiti, Vellore, and Tiruppattar districts, indicating heavy rainfall is likely on Tuesday.
Scattered Rainfall Forecast for Southern States
Scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected to affect the southern states, including Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, over the next five days. The IMD has warned of isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Karnataka.
Heatwave Conditions Persist in Tamil Nadu
Hot and humid weather is forecast for Tamil Nadu on May 8, with some areas experiencing heatwave conditions. The IMD has also predicted heatwave conditions in isolated pockets over parts of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, and west Rajasthan.
Temperature and Humidity Outlook
Temperatures in Tamil Nadu are expected to range between 41-43 degrees Celsius in some interior districts and 36-38 degrees Celsius in coastal areas over the next five days. Humidity levels are likely to remain high, ranging from 40-85% during different times of the day.
