Webjet Relaxes Partnership with AirAsia, Offering More Affordable Flight Routes to Asia

Webjet, Australia’s leading online travel agency, has announced the relaunch of its partnership with AirAsia, a move that will simplify the search, comparison, and booking process for cost-effective flights across AirAsia’s extensive network. This partnership underscores the commitment of both organizations to offer customers a wider variety of choices and price options, introducing hundreds of additional flight routes to popular Australian destinations such as Bali, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok through AirAsia, AirAsiaX, Thai AirAsia X, and AirAsia Indonesia.

To mark the occasion, Webjet and AirAsia are kicking off a significant promotional sale for Asia, running from 20 May to 2 June 2024. David Galt, CEO at Webjet OTA, says: “AirAsia is an undisputed low cost leader for travel across South East Asia. With price increasingly top of mind, we’re more dedicated than ever to offering Aussies the biggest and best range of flight deals to keep their travel packages affordable.

We’re seeing a huge uptick in demand for flights to Asia including direct flights to AirAsia’s main hubs in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok where they can connect to a world of destinations in the region. Bali remains consistently popular, especially from Perth, with searches and bookings to Thailand also on the rise. Our new partnership with AirAsia will offer quick and easy access to some of the most competitive fares to these leading destinations.”

Paul Carroll, Chief Commercial Officer at AirAsia Group, comments: “With four airlines in the AirAsia Group now flying to and from Australia for the first time, we offer more value and choice than ever before for our guests ‘Down Under’, which connect to over 130 destinations across Asia and beyond – including Aussie favourites like India, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and more. It’s an opportune time to relaunch our partnership with Webjet, as we continue to consider further expanding our services in the near future.”

Benyamin Ismail, CEO of AirAsia X, adds: “We have enjoyed a strong partnership in the past and it is great to be back on sale on Australia’s leading online travel agency. We know price, value and connectivity are core for our Australian guests who love our great value fares on medium haul routes to Asia and beyond, including Premium Flatbeds which are like business class seats for a fraction of the price and now offer lounge access in Sydney and Melbourne. AirAsia X has significant growth plans in line with strong demand, and Webjet’s support will go a long way in serving one of our most important markets.”
