During a hearing on Friday, Judge Michael Katz criticized Wendy Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, for allegedly withholding the star’s financial records from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter. The judge emphasized the importance of transparency and requested that Morrissey hand over the requested information promptly.
Kevin Hunter alleged that Morrissey, who was appointed as Wendy Williams’ guardian in 2022 due to her declining health, is intentionally withholding the financial records out of fear of being exposed for allegedly mismanaging Williams’ money. Hunter further claimed that Morrissey has depleted Williams’ bank account since her appointment as guardian.
Judge Katz reprimanded Morrissey for allegedly not complying with Hunter’s request for financial records, stating that the case could not be resolved without full disclosure. Morrissey defended herself, claiming that she has complied with the New York court’s directives but faces challenges in releasing private information.
Kevin Hunter expressed frustration over the situation, asserting that Wendy Williams has sufficient funds in the bank to resume the divorce payments agreed upon in their marital settlement agreement. He cited her recent lucrative earnings from her Lifetime docuseries, ‘Where Is Wendy Williams?’.
The judge directed his attention to Morrissey and emphasized the need for cooperation in providing the requested information. He stated that an arbitrator would determine if there was a breach of the marital settlement agreement and that discovery is necessary to assess any damages.
The hearing concluded with Kevin Hunter appearing pleased with the outcome, while Sabrina Morrissey appeared stressed as they left the courtroom. Earlier this month, Morrissey had requested a gag order on Kevin Hunter’s communication with the press, but the judge did not entertain the request.
