Former Braga boss Ruben Amorim, who guided Sporting Lisbon to their first league title in two decades in 2021, has emerged as a sought-after manager in the Premier League. West Ham United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in acquiring his services. Amorim’s representatives have already held talks with Liverpool, while West Ham United director Tim Steitden is keen on making him his latest coup after successfully bringing Alfred Schreuder from Ajax in 2023. Former Sporting Lisbon board member Jaime Marta Soares believes that finding a manager of Amorim’s caliber may be challenging for the Portuguese club. He highlights Amorim’s success in continuing the club’s wave of success and credits him and sporting director Hugo Viana for their exceptional work. However, HITC understands that Amorim is still considered unlikely to replace David Moyes at West Ham. The former Braga boss may also have reservations about the Liverpool post, given the immense pressure to succeed Jurgen Klopp. West Ham United are exploring other potential replacements for Moyes, including Gary O’Neill, Marco Silva, and Julen Lopetegui. Former Wolves boss Lopetegui has been offered to the club via intermediaries, while Paulo Fonseca’s camp has stated that while he is respected at the London Stadium, no talks have taken place yet.
