West Penn Power Volunteers Plant Trees for Earth Day

West Penn Power Green Team volunteers planted hundreds of trees in celebration of Earth Day, continuing the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship. On Monday, volunteers planted 256 trees at Hempfield Park, expanding the area’s green cover. Additionally, volunteers distributed free trees in Jeannette last Friday, offering residents the opportunity to contribute to urban reforestation efforts.

These initiatives are part of West Penn Power’s parent company, FirstEnergy’s, wider tree planting program within its service area. According to company spokesman Todd Meyers, FirstEnergy has already planted over 67,000 trees and has plans to plant an additional 25,000 trees this year. The company’s commitment to environmental sustainability highlights the importance of preserving and enhancing natural resources for future generations.
