The Westfield High School baseball team opened the season with six consecutive wins, but their streak came to an end on Monday with a 4-2 loss to Central High School of Springfield.
Central’s senior pitcher Eliezer Rosario was the story of the game, scattering four hits and no walks while striking out 14 batters. Westfield managed to score two runs off Rosario, but it wasn’t enough to overcome his dominance.
The loss was the Bombers’ second straight, as they fell to 6-2 on the season. Central improved to 3-3 with the win.
Westfield will look to get back on track when they host Longmeadow on Wednesday.
