The WestJet Group has announced major improvements to its long-haul and leisure travel services through its winter 787 schedule. These enhancements are designed to meet the growing demand for international travel options from Western Canada.
Expanded Connectivity: Year-Round Calgary-Tokyo Service
WestJet is now offering year-round flights between Calgary and Tokyo, expanding from its existing summer seasonal service. This strategic move aims to attract more visitors to Alberta and boost global tourism prospects. The airline’s enduring codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines provides access to seven additional destinations beyond Tokyo.
Enhanced Year-Round European Service
WestJet is reinforcing its European winter service by offering daily flights to both London and Paris from its global hub in Calgary. The frequency to Paris has been increased to daily to align with London, responding to the rising demand for both business and leisure travel between Western Canada and Europe. Through WestJet’s codeshare agreement with Air France, guests can access 53 more European destinations beyond Paris.
Pioneering Leisure Travel: Expanding Mexico Access
In line with its vision, WestJet remains committed to offering affordable leisure travel options nationwide. This winter, the airline is expanding its 787 aircraft deployment on highly sought-after leisure routes. This includes doubling its capacity between Calgary and Cancun to twice daily and elevating service between Calgary and Puerto Vallarta to daily flights. Additionally, WestJet will maintain its daily 787 service between Toronto and Cancun and three times weekly service between Calgary and Honolulu.
