The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating widespread heatwave conditions over several regions of India, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. These regions are predicted to experience heatwave or severe heatwave conditions from June 9th to June 12th, 2024. The IMD has also projected heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Kerala, especially Mahé, on June 8th and 9th, 2024. Additionally, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is anticipated in Madhya Maharashtra from June 9th to June 11th, 2024. North Interior Karnataka and Coastal Karnataka are also expected to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on June 9th, 2024, while Coastal Karnataka’s rainfall is predicted to continue on June 10th and 11th, 2024.
