Wildflower Cases Founders Share Their Journey at Vogue Club’s NYFW Kickoff

As the summer heat gradually subsides, the fashion world gears up for its biggest season – New York Fashion Week. To celebrate the start of this sartorial extravaganza, Vogue Club hosted a special ‘Meet The Founder’ event featuring Devon Lee and Sydney Lynn Carlson of Wildflower Cases. Held at The Standard Hotel in the East Village, the event brought together fashion enthusiasts, designers, and industry professionals.

The event kicked off with a vibrant ambiance as Vogue Club members gathered for an exclusive panel discussion led by Julia Hobbs, British Vogue’s Fashion Features Director. The evening was filled with lively conversation and music, setting the stage for an inspiring conversation with the founders of Wildflower Cases.

Devon and Sydney shared the incredible journey of their female-led, family-owned brand, Wildflower Cases. The story began over a decade ago, when their mother designed clear gel phone cases as teenagers. The brand has since grown exponentially, employing 40 individuals and selling over 800,000 units globally each year.

The Carlson sisters revealed a pivotal moment in their entrepreneurial journey: a chance encounter with pop star Miley Cyrus. During a dinner with their parents in California, they crossed paths with Cyrus in a restaurant restroom. The pop star noticed their phone cases, and after learning about their business, she encouraged them to start a company. Within 24 hours, they launched Wildflower Cases with a website and their first two cases sold out within minutes.

The founders emphasized the importance of pursuing passion and transforming everyday items into something “cute.” This philosophy, combined with their relentless drive, has propelled their brand from bedroom beginnings to a global phenomenon, working with celebrities like Charli XCX, Gracie Abrams, Emma Chamberlain, and Sandy Liang.

Vogue Club members actively participated in the conversation, offering insights and fueling the lively exchange. The evening concluded with music and gift bags featuring a special discount for Vogue Club members. The event concluded at The Standard East Village’s NO Bar, providing a fitting end to a night of fashion, inspiration, and entrepreneurial spirit.
