Windows 11 Runs on iPhone 15 Pro, But It’s Not Pretty

Windows 11 has been successfully run on an Apple iPhone 15 Pro, thanks to the power of emulation and a stripped-down version of Windows known as Tiny11. This impressive feat was achieved using a new PC emulator, UTM SE, which was recently approved for the Apple App Store. The developer of Tiny11 managed to get the most compact and streamlined version of Windows 11 running on the iPhone 15 Pro, but the experience was far from smooth.

As you might expect when trying to run a desktop OS on a smartphone, the performance was sluggish. NTDEV, the developer behind this experiment, reported that the iPhone 15 Pro took a staggering 20 minutes to boot, and using the system was described as a ‘treacle-like experience’.

While this has no practical application, it’s still a cool demonstration of what’s possible with emulation. NTDEV has promised to release a video of Windows 11 running on the iPhone, so we’ll be eagerly awaiting that. For now, we have screenshots shared by NTDEV, including one showcasing Task Manager, which shows a 1GHz (virtual) processor and 2GB of RAM.

It’s important to note that this is purely a technical demonstration and not a viable way to use Windows 11 on an iPhone. The limitations of running a desktop OS on a mobile device are evident in the slow performance and the impracticality of the entire setup.
