Windstar Cruises Partners with The Latin Recording Academy for Special Awards Presentation

Miami-based boutique cruise line Windstar Cruises has announced an exciting partnership with The Latin Recording Academy. The company will be the presenting sponsor of the 2024 Special Awards Presentation, a key event during Latin GRAMMY® Week. This collaboration underlines Windstar’s ongoing commitment to supporting the arts, a commitment deeply rooted in their history.

Windstar has a long tradition of partnering with renowned organizations dedicated to fostering creativity and promoting cultural diversity. They have previously collaborated with the James Beard Foundation in the culinary arts and Miami’s Fountainhead for visual arts.

The Special Awards Presentation is a celebration of Latin music’s most influential figures. The event features two prestigious honors: the Lifetime Achievement Award, given to performers who have made significant contributions to Latin music and its communities, and the Trustees Award, which recognizes individuals who have made notable contributions to the Latin music world outside of performance. Both awards are carefully chosen by The Latin Recording Academy’s Board of Trustees.

Windstar is proud to serve as the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Special Awards Presentation, which is set to take place on November 10. “With our newer headquarters in Miami, as well as a talented workforce that includes many Latino professionals in the cruise industry, we felt Windstar could take a more proactive approach to support Latin music and these musical legends,” said Windstar Cruises’ Chief Commercial Officer Janet Bava. “We are choosing to support creators and artists who pioneered the path for success of future artists, and much like many of our seasoned cruisers at Windstar, they’ve left an indelible mark on their respective fields.”

This partnership celebrates the profound impact of Latin culture on the global stage. Bava adds, “This partnership is especially timely with September and October being National Hispanic Heritage Month. Through our multiple partnerships, Windstar will shine a spotlight on the vital role that music, visual art, and culinary traditions play in enriching the human experience, while also creating opportunities for emerging and established artists to share their talents with the world.”

Every November, the Latin GRAMMY® Awards, known as The Biggest Night in Latin Music®, recognize outstanding achievements in the recording arts and sciences across the globe, honoring professionals in 58 categories. In 2024, the Latin GRAMMYs, the only music award chosen by peers, will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
