Witcher 3 Mod Support Now Available
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received its long-awaited official mod support, granting players the power to create their own adventures and experiences within the game. Developed by CD Projekt Red, the REDkit mod editor allows users to modify existing content or craft entirely new additions to the game.
Romance the Crones
One notable challenge issued by quest designer Paweł Sasko, now the associate game director for Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, is for players to add the option to romance the infamous Crones of Crookback Bog. While Geralt of Rivia’s encounters with numerous characters throughout the game have been limited, this intriguing possibility has now been opened up to the modding community.
Early Access and Future
Currently, the REDkit mod editor is in early access, available to select users. Those interested can request access on Steam. CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the editor will remain exclusive to PC, unlike other RPG makers like Bethesda. The new modding capabilities are expected to extend the lifespan of The Witcher 3, which received a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X update but will not receive any further official content as the studio focuses on other projects.
Upcoming Witcher Games
While the highly anticipated next Witcher game is still a few years away, two other Witcher projects are on the horizon: a remake of the original Witcher and a multiplayer spin-off. These additions will provide continued engagement for fans while they await the next installment in Geralt’s epic saga.
