The race to the 2024-25 UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage heated up on Wednesday as four teams secured their spots. Former champions Wolfsburg, debutants Galatasaray and Hammarby, and Valerenga all emerged victorious from the second round of qualifying, becoming the first teams to advance.
While these teams celebrated their qualification, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) face an uphill battle in the second leg of their respective qualifying matches. Both teams will need to overturn deficits to secure their place in the group stage.
With four teams already confirmed, the final round of qualifying on September 26 will decide the fate of eight more teams. The 12 successful qualifiers will join the automatic entrants – Barcelona, Lyon, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea – in the group stage draw, which will take place on Friday, September 27.
The group stage matches will kick off on October 8/9 and continue until December 16/17. The excitement will continue to build as the tournament progresses, with the quarterfinal and semifinal draws set for February 7, 2025. The final will be played on May 23, 24, or 25, 2025 (TBC). Get ready for an action-packed season of thrilling women’s football!
