On May 29th, a woman traveling on a KSRTC bus in Kerala’s Thrissur district gave birth to a baby girl. The incident unfolded as the woman went into labor while on the bus. With quick thinking, the bus driver diverted to the Amala Hospital campus for assistance, where the birth took place. Dr. Yasir Sulaiman of Amala Hospital stated that the labor pain had already begun, making it impossible to transfer the woman to the emergency department. The medical team then assisted in the birth and cut the umbilical cord on the spot, ensuring the safety of both the baby and the mother. Currently, both the mother and the newborn are in stable condition. The incident marked an unusual and memorable event for the medical team at the hospital.
