Woman Killed, Three Wounded in Stabbing Attack Near Tel Aviv

Israeli police and medics confirmed that a woman in her 70s was killed and three other people were injured in a stabbing attack in Holon, a suburb of Tel Aviv. The police identified the attacker as a resident of the West Bank, suggesting the attack was carried out by a Palestinian militant. The attacker was “neutralized” by police, and a search for other possible suspects is ongoing. Tensions have been escalating across the region since Hamas’ October 7 attack sparked the war in Gaza last year. The recent killing of a senior Hezbollah commander in a strike in Lebanon and Hamas’ top political leader in an attack in Iran’s capital last week have placed Israel on high alert for potential retaliation. Initially, the police reported four injured individuals. However, Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service later confirmed that the woman had succumbed to her injuries. They also provided updates on the conditions of the other victims: a 70-year-old man in critical condition, a 68-year-old man in severe condition, and a 26-year-old man in moderate condition.
