World number one tennis player Jannik Sinner has been forced to withdraw from the Paris Olympics 2024 due to illness. The Italian star announced his disappointment on social media platform X, stating that he had developed tonsillitis following a week of clay training.
Sinner revealed that after feeling unwell, he spent a few days resting. However, a doctor’s visit confirmed tonsillitis, strongly advising against playing. He expressed his sadness at missing the Games, which he considered a major goal for this season. Sinner was particularly looking forward to representing Italy in this prestigious event.
Despite his withdrawal, Sinner will be cheering on his fellow Italian athletes from home. He concluded his post with a message of support, saying, “Good luck to all the Italian athletes who I will support from home. Forza Italia!”
