World2Fly Launches Lisbon to Montego Bay Flights, Boosting Jamaican Tourism with 7,000 European Visitors

Jamaica is gearing up for a surge in European tourism as World2Fly, a European airline, prepares to launch direct flights between Lisbon, Portugal, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. The new route, set to begin in the summer of 2025, is projected to bring a significant influx of travelers from Continental Europe, with an estimated 7,000 visitors expected to journey to Jamaica between June and September. This exciting development will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth of Jamaica’s tourism sector.

World2Fly, a relatively young airline established in 2021, is a subsidiary of World2Meet and a part of the Iberostar Group, a major force in Spain’s hotel and tourism industry. The airline specializes in connecting leisure travelers from Spain and Portugal to Caribbean destinations, offering them a convenient gateway to tropical paradises.

Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, expressed his enthusiastic support for this new air route, highlighting its potential to further enhance Jamaica’s position as a leading tourist destination. During the recent World Travel Market in London, Minister Bartlett and his team met with senior executives from World2Fly to solidify the new route and explore further opportunities to strengthen tourism connections between Europe and Jamaica.

The Lisbon to Montego Bay flight will operate non-stop once weekly, utilizing an Airbus A350 aircraft. With a generous capacity of 432 seats, the aircraft offers ample space to accommodate European travelers seeking the vibrant culture, pristine beaches, and captivating experiences that Jamaica is renowned for.

This new air link is expected to provide a significant boost to Jamaica’s tourism industry, opening up new avenues for travelers from Portugal and other European countries to experience the island’s unique charm and beauty. The increased connectivity promises to bring economic benefits to the island, supporting jobs, businesses, and overall growth in the tourism sector.
