Originally released in 2022 on other platforms, ‘Neon White’ was developed by Angel Matrix, a studio founded by the creator of ‘Donut County,’ Ben Esposito. While classified as a first-person shooter, it deviates from the traditional ‘Doom’ or ‘Call of Duty’ formula. Players strategically use cards to activate weapons, which simultaneously serve as both offensive tools and platforming aids. This unique gameplay mechanic transforms ‘Neon White’ into a speedrunning-focused puzzle platformer rather than a conventional shooter.
