Yale Arrests Dozens, Columbia Cancels Classes Amid Middle East Tensions on Campuses

In response to the escalating tensions surrounding the war in the Middle East, Columbia University has announced the cancellation of in-person classes, while the campus police at Yale University have arrested approximately 45 protesters.

These actions occurred shortly before the commencement of the Jewish holiday of Passover on Monday evening. According to a spokesperson for the New Haven, Connecticut, police department, the protesters were detained and charged with the misdemeanor offense of trespassing on Monday morning at Yale.
