Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected in the first inning of Monday’s game against the Blue Jays due to a miscommunication with umpire Pat Wendelstedt.
Wendelstedt believed Boone had shouted at him, but it was later revealed that a fan sitting behind the dugout had done so. Boone argued his case postgame, while Wendelstedt stood by his decision.
The Yankees went on to win the game 2-0 thanks to a two-run home run by second baseman Gleyber Torres in the ninth inning.
