YOTEL, known for its innovative and stylish hotel experiences, is expanding its footprint in Europe with the upcoming launch of YOTEL Belfast. Set to open its doors in late 2026, this new hotel will be located in the bustling Shaftesbury Square, a prime location within walking distance of iconic landmarks like Queen’s University and the Botanic Gardens.
Rohan Thakkar, YOTEL’s Chief Development Officer, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for bringing their brand to Belfast, a city that shares their commitment to innovation and creativity. He highlighted YOTEL Belfast as a key milestone in their global franchise strategy, marking their 35th signed hotel and pushing their total room count to nearly 8,000. This expansion comes in partnership with Andras Hotels, a leading operator in the region.
YOTEL Belfast will offer 165 rooms, each embodying the brand’s signature focus on smart, space-saving design, advanced technology, and maximum comfort. Guests can expect to enjoy features like the signature reclining SmartBedTM, Smart TVs, and revitalizing rain showers with Urban Jungle amenities.
Beyond its rooms, the hotel will feature a lively dining and beverage concept, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere for guests to socialize and unwind. A 24/7 fitness center will provide opportunities to stay active, and a versatile meeting room will cater to the needs of business travelers.
The hotel’s public areas are being meticulously designed in collaboration with local interior designers and architects, reflecting the unique charm of Belfast. These communal spaces are intended to be inviting for both hotel guests and locals, offering a space to connect, work, and relax.
Rajesh Rana, Director of Andras Hotels, emphasized the significance of this project, highlighting the £17 million investment that will not only provide a modern accommodation option for visitors but also create high-quality jobs for the local community. He emphasized the hotel’s role in revitalizing Shaftesbury Square, attracting visitors to this important area.
This development aligns with YOTEL’s broader strategy of bringing its cutting-edge hotel concept to more destinations globally. With upcoming openings in cities like Tokyo, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, YOTEL continues to expand its presence on the international stage.
As part of the initial steps for the Belfast location, a Proposal of Application Notice has been submitted to Belfast City Council, signifying the start of the planning phase for the development. This marks the beginning of an exciting journey for YOTEL in Belfast, promising to bring a unique and modern hotel experience to the city.
