Zelda Gets Her Own Adventure in ‘The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’

Nintendo made a big announcement during the June Nintendo Direct, unveiling a brand-new Zelda title called ‘The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’. This 2D entry in the series follows the 2019 remake of ‘Link’s Awakening’ and is set to release on September 26th, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Instead of another remake, as developer Grezzo is known for, ‘Echoes of Wisdom’ is an entirely original adventure.

Maintaining the art style of ‘Link’s Awakening’, ‘Echoes of Wisdom’ takes a unique twist by allowing players to embark on a journey as Zelda, not Link. The story unfolds as Link is whisked away into a void after rescuing Zelda from Ganon. Zelda, escaping the void, must now venture across Hyrule to save the kingdom from the mysterious forces that threaten it.

Combat takes a new direction in ‘Echoes of Wisdom’. Zelda utilizes a Trirod, a magical staff capable of creating echoes of objects. These echoes act as copies of objects, serving both as tools for navigation and weapons in combat. Players can create echoes of tables to climb cliffs, or summon echoes of enemies to fight on their behalf.

Almost any object can be turned into an echo, offering endless possibilities for creative solutions to puzzles. The game encourages players to approach challenges in different ways, fostering a sense of unique problem-solving, similar to the building mechanics in ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’.

‘The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’ promises a fresh take on the classic Zelda formula, offering a captivating adventure with a unique gameplay twist. Its release on September 26th will be a welcome addition to any Zelda fan’s collection.
