Zoe Ball Shares Heartfelt Tribute to Mother After Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis

BBC Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball has shared the final photograph of her mother, Julia, shortly before her passing. Four months prior to her mother’s death, Ball posted a series of photos taken during a family vacation to Antigua. The collection included a poignant image of Ball and her mother enjoying a night out together. On Wednesday, Ball confirmed her mother’s passing, following an announcement of her pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March.

Ball’s family has been spending time together, and she expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from her colleagues and listeners. Gabby Roslin has been stepping in for Ball on her Radio 2 breakfast show so the pair could spend time together.

Zoe’s son Woody, who she shares with ex-husband Norman Cook, also known as British DJ Fatboy Slim, shared a tribute on Instagram. ‘Today I say goodbye to Granny J, thank you for being a wonderful woman,’ he wrote, alongside a younger picture with his grandmother.

Ball announced her mother’s illness last month with a picture of Julia surrounded by family as well as a snap of her receiving chemotherapy. ‘Heartbreakingly our beautiful Mama Julia has been diagnosed with Cancer. As many of you know from experience, these are extremely tough times. Mum is being incredibly brave.’

Ball’s family and friends have been rallying around her during this difficult time. She has expressed her gratitude for their love and support, and has urged her followers to cherish their loved ones and make the most of every moment together.
