Zomato Relaunches ‘Intercity Legends’ Service with Minimum Order Value of Rs 5,000

Online food delivery platform Zomato has brought back its ‘Intercity Legends’ service, but with a twist. The service, which previously allowed customers to order food from popular restaurants located in different cities, was temporarily suspended in April. Now, it’s back with a refreshed look within the Zomato app and a new name – ‘Legends’. This relaunched service features a minimum order value of Rs 5,000 and gives users the flexibility to customize their orders with dishes from multiple restaurants across different cities in a single transaction.

While previously Zomato offered same-day delivery for certain restaurants, indicating they kept stocks of popular dishes, this practice has been discontinued. Now, all orders placed before 7 p.m. are delivered the following day, and all dishes are delivered chilled, purely based on customer orders.

The relaunch of ‘Legends’ follows a period of inactivity. In April, the service tab was deactivated and displayed a message stating, “Closed Now. Be back soon.” This relaunch marks a shift in Zomato’s approach to intercity food delivery.

In other news, Zomato has secured shareholder approval to establish a new employee stock option pool (ESOP) consisting of 18.2 crore shares. A majority of investors, 75%, voted in favor of the proposal, while 25% opposed it, as revealed in an exchange filing by the company. With a current market price of approximately Rs 208 per share, the 18.26 crore shares hold an estimated value of around Rs 3,800 crore.
