An LPG cylinder explosion and subsequent fire in Mumbai’s Chembur area on Thursday morning injured at least 10 people, officials stated. The incident occurred at around 7.30 am in a one-storey house on C G Gidwani Marg. According to reports, the LPG was leaking from the cylinder, and when lit, it exploded, causing a wall of the house to collapse and damaging the roof of a neighboring shop. The impact of the explosion resulted in a fire, which was later extinguished. Eight people within the house and two outside were injured, including two minors and three women. All injured individuals were transported to Shatabdi Hospital in Govandi. Four individuals sustained severe burn injuries, while six others incurred minor injuries. One person with head and leg injuries was shifted to Sion Hospital for further treatment. Despite the severity of the incident, officials reported that the condition of all injured people is currently stable.
